The Big Ache

Oh my goodness, Xfe and I are completely ached-out. Yesterday we shifted over 3 tons of sand and stone into the back garden.

The grass we had didn't winter very well. Over winter it was pretty sodden and the grass destroyed and extremely patchy. So, Xfe decided we should get rid of the lawn and cover it over with shingle.

Yesterday was the day. So, while other Londoners may have been enjoying Pride under the sun, we were doing back breaking work, lifting turf, digging up and replacing with sand and stone. Over 3 tons, plus some 160 bricks. Which was well calculated - we only had 4 left over.

I will post some pics once I've got them over from Xfe's phone later.

In the meantime I. Need a rub...

Wow - that's alot of sand - 3 tons? You're in need of a massage!

1 ton sand, 2 tons of pea shingle. On top of that I carried 160 bricks and I had to shift about another ton of top soil, twice.

But, it was worth it.
